Tiger Pride

As I worked on Tiger Pride, I felt a powerful connection to the LSU football team and its passionate fans. I wanted to create an artwork that captured the LSU community’s power, pride, tenacity, and resilience.

Since the Tigers are constantly preparing for game day, I thought Death Valley and the tiger’s eye would be a fitting metaphor for their tenacity and concentration. Even in the face of hardship, the tiger’s gaze never wavers. This reminds me of the LSU football team and its fans, who never, ever quit. The oak tree in the painting represents the LSU community’s strength and endurance. It reminds me that the LSU family is always there for one another, in good times and bad.
